Lilian and Sophie Bauchet are amongst those of us who have lived other lives before finding their passion. It requires much dedication and faith to actually make that jump, to quit the «day-job» and go out in search of a dream and do something according to ideal. That passion and singlemindedness is palpable when you meet these two, and when you taste their wines. Take it all the way, and further. They would never know this and certainly never suggest it, but we would not be surprised if they began to surpass some of the masters and mentors they revere and from whom they learned a lot of natural wine-making dogma. Such is the intellect and touch that these two have, naturally.
The Domaine holds roughly 6 ha in Lancié, between Fleurie and Morgon. Viticulture is decidedly manual, and the role of vegetation, high cropping and sun/shade mix is much studied. In the cellar, winemaking is rigourously zero-entrant, with no SO2 at any stage.
